To celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we invite you to join us in our Matching Gift Campaign and double your impact. Through May 31st, RPCVLA will match every donation made to the Jean M. Yamanaka Peace Corps Memorial Fund, up to $2,000 total!

Donations will benefit Korean Family Services of Los Angeles (KFAM), which aims “to empower underserved Korean American and Asian Pacific Islander families through culturally responsive programs.”

Current services for 2025 include:

  • Adoption & Foster Family Initiative: To help Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) children in the foster  care system get matched to AAPI resource/foster families and help with the adoption process.
  • Child & Adult Wellness: Wellness and government services programs including a child care food program where healthy meals are provided daily to 3,000 children throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties
  • Gender-Based Violence Programs: Intervention, prevention, and outreach services for survivors affected by domestic violence.

Please email us with any questions at [email protected] and share this donation link with your friends and family!

The Jean M. Yamanaka Peace Corps Memorial Fund was established in honor of Jean Yamanaka, a Peace Corps Volunteer who served in the Philippines and a former Board Member of RPCVLA. Since 2003, over $30,000 has been donated to community projects around the world.
