The Jean M. Yamanaka Peace Corps Memorial Fund

For nearly 50 years, the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Los Angeles (RPCVLA) has carried forward a simple but powerful idea: communities know what they need, and small grants can help them make it happen.

Since 1976, this belief has fueled more than $46,000 in grassroots-funded grants—clean water systems, school libraries, community gardens, youth leadership programs, and expanded educational opportunities for children around the world. Each grant is modest in size but transformative in impact, rooted in the Peace Corps Third Goal of bringing the world back home and keeping global connection alive.

Your donation—by mail or online—directly funds the next project. There’s no overhead standing between your gift and the community it helps. Every dollar goes where it’s needed most.

Join us in continuing Jean’s legacy. Give today and help a community turn its own vision into reality.

Help Keep RPCVLA Running

Since 1968, the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Los Angeles has been one of the oldest NPCA affiliate groups in the country—connecting Returned Volunteers, supporting the Peace Corps community, and carrying the Third Goal forward here in LA.

But keeping an organization like ours alive takes more than passion. It takes funding for the basics: web hosting, our mailbox, NPCA membership dues, non-profit registration, and all the small costs that add up behind the scenes.

Here’s the thing—we don’t receive outside funding. RPCVLA is run entirely by a 100% volunteer Board, and every bit of our operating budget comes from people like you.

Your gift to our General Fund isn’t glamorous, but it’s essential. It’s what lets us keep the lights on so we can keep doing the work: building community, supporting members, and honoring the spirit of service that brought us all here.

If RPCVLA has meant something to you, consider a gift today. No amount is too small—every contribution helps us stay strong for the next 50+ years.

Donate to the General Fund today.
